QuickBooks Payroll Integration for Sri Lanka

Post every Humanised pay run to QuickBooks Online as a journal: salaries, EPF, ETF, APIT, stamp duty, loans and reimbursements, mapped once to your chart of accounts.

QuickBooks Online is the accounting product most Sri Lankan accountants and bureaus now run for SME clients. QuickBooks has no Sri Lankan payroll, so the pay run happens in Humanised and the accounting entries travel to QuickBooks automatically after each confirmed run.

Supported QuickBooks editions

Humanised connects to QuickBooks Online (all plans) through the official API. QuickBooks Desktop is not supported: it has no cloud API for a Sri Lankan third party to post to. If you run Desktop, the payroll journal exports from Humanised as a file for import, or ask us about a custom integration, which we build at cost for a specific setup.

How the integration works

Each confirmed pay run posts one journal: gross salaries by department, the employee and employer EPF and ETF contributions, APIT and stamp duty liabilities, loan and advance movements, approved expense reimbursements and net pay to the bank clearing account, each to the account you mapped once during setup. Nothing is re-keyed and the month-end reconciliation is a comparison of two identical figures.

Setting it up

  • Choose the Accounting Software Integration add-on (LKR 6,000 a year on any plan) and connect your cloud accounting file from Humanised with your login; we never store your accounting password.
  • Map each payroll line to an account in your chart of accounts once; your accountant can do this with you on a call.
  • Run the first pay run in parallel and check the journal in your accounting software against the payroll summary.
  • From then on every confirmed pay run posts automatically; edits and reversals post as adjusting entries.
